Meet The Designer

I can take a mental photo of a space and remember the smallest details spatially then visualize it to create room layouts. I have photographic memory of color most of the time - knowing the paint color used in a room even though I didn’t have the name of the color chip. I believe this is a gift that can’t be learned. For me, visualizing a finished room and negotiating the scale in my creative mind is as natural as breathing.

Shawna Taylor, Owner & Designer

My passion for interior design initiated as a child by cutting out furniture ads from newspaper flyers and glue them onto my room sketches the way I thought the room should be laid out.

While wandering the grounds of places we had travelled to or when simply out and about, I had to observe all the details, from the faucets, to the candles, visualizing how organized it could be, to whether the lighting was a hit or a miss. I would daydream about what worked in a room or what could be changed to make it better.

Suffice to say that interior design was less a career choice and more of a calling!

I have over 25 years of interior design experience that started while living in the Netherlands, then California,  Nova Scotia, and now New Hampshire coupled with my education at UC Berkeley Interior Design and Interior Architecture program.

My goal is to help people through the design process via sketches,  perspectives, and conceptual 3D plans so they can visualize the plans as well.

Designs are “original” by mixing eclectic, transitional, and modern styles into the design that are timeless plus most importantly reflect the client. My knowledge of design styles and color theory combined with world travel experience helps conceive an environment that includes the past, meets the current needs of a family or workspace, and includes plans for the always evolving future growth of an environment.

I look forward to meeting you, discuss your project and design away!
